I work with children of all ages, including as young as 3-years-old. I believe in the importance of caregiver and familial participation in therapy to help with child development and healing. Therapeutic interventions are tailored to your child’s specific mental health needs and therefore will be different for every child and family. Play Therapy and CBT are both interventions that I frequently utilize in child therapy.

Play Therapy
Play therapy is used with children to help them navigate and overcome emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges. I incorporate both child-centered and directive play therapy models, meaning that play therapy sessions include imaginative and creative elements, psychoeducation, structured and unstructured play, and the use of toys specifically selected to encourage children to express their emotions verbally and non-verbally. Caregiver engagement and participation is important in play therapy sessions, as building relationships through play helps the development of trust and compassion.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
TF-CBT is an evidence-based therapy specifically designed to treat children and adolescents ages 3-18 who have experienced trauma during their life. TF-CBT addresses complex trauma, developmental trauma, individual traumatic events and PTSD. This structured therapy incorporated many techniques such as psychoeducation, emotional expression and regulation, cognitive processing, understanding and coping with triggers, mindfulness and relaxation skills.
